Umiyaji Stores

Umiyaji Stores is located in Mulund West, right by the 3rd Cross and Shyamanna Garden on the way toward Mysore Road. It is a neighborhood spot where we keep a lot of different things on the shelves. The store is not very big, so we have stuff stacked up pretty high. Sometimes it takes a minute to find a specific item if it got moved behind something else. We spend a lot of time dusting the jars and counting the stock. The garden nearby brings in some people who are just passing through, but mostly it is the same faces every day. We know who wants what before they even ask most of the time. The ceiling fan wobbles a bit and makes a clicking sound when it is on the highest setting. We tried fixing it once but it just went back to clicking the next day. The door stays open to let the breeze in, but that also means some dust comes in from the Mysore Road traffic. It is a simple life of helping customers and making sure we do not run out of the basics. We deal with suppliers in the mornings and then it is just us behind the counter until late evening. It is not a high-tech operation. We still write a lot of things down in a notebook to keep track.
