You can find us at Gala number 19 in the Shreeji Industrial Estate. It’s located in Jogeshwari East, which is a pretty tight and busy part of Mumbai. If you know the area, you know that the industrial estates here are packed with all sorts of small units. Our gala is just one of many in the row. It’s a compact space, so we have to be smart about how we stack the boxes and where the sewing machines go. There isn't much room for extras. Most days are spent dealing with the humidity and making sure the clothes are handled properly. The estate gets a lot of traffic, mostly small tempos and delivery vans trying to squeeze through the narrow lanes. It can get pretty noisy with all the different businesses working right next to each other. We’ve been at this spot for some time now. We know the neighbors and the guy who brings the snacks around in the afternoon. It’s a very local, working-class vibe. We don’t put on any acts here. We just show up, do the work, and head home when the shutters go down. The lighting inside isn't the best, but it works for what we do. Jogeshwari East is a tough place to navigate if you're not used to it, but it’s where all the action is for clothing production. We just keep our heads down and stick to our own gala, getting the orders out.
