True Fashion

True Fashion is located in the Shah & Nahar Industrial Estate, specifically in A-2 Unit No. 84. This part of Lower Parel used to be all about the old mills, and you can still feel that history in these buildings. The walls are thick and the ceilings are high. S. J. Road is always packed with cars and people, especially now with all the new malls and offices nearby. But inside our unit, things are much the same as they’ve always been. We have our machines set up and we spend the day working through our orders. It’s not a glamorous job. There is a lot of thread on the floor and the sound of sewing machines is constant. We don't have a big mission statement or a fancy philosophy. We just try to make clothes that look decent and last a while. We know our regulars and we try to be helpful when people stop by. The industrial estate has its own quirks, like the elevators that only work when they want to. We’ve learned to just go with the flow. Lower Parel is changing fast, but we are happy just staying in our unit and getting the work done. It’s a simple way to run a business. We focus on the garments and let the rest of the world worry about the rest. It’s just us, some fabric, and a lot of hard work. We stay busy every day.
