Trends

We work out of Silver Birch, which is an apartment building in the Jogi Hills area of Mulund West. Specifically, we are in unit B 602. It is more of a home-office setup where we manage everything for Trends. Being up on the sixth floor gives us a bit of a view of the hills, which is nice when things get stressful. Mumbai is always loud and fast, but this part of Mulund is slightly quieter, though the traffic downstairs still reminds you where you are. We deal with fashion and retail trends, so there are often boxes of samples or fabric swatches laying around on the dining table or the desks we set up. It is not a showroom, just a place where the logic and the logistics happen. We spend a lot of time on our laptops checking what is selling and what people are wearing. Sometimes the internet acts up, or the elevator in the building takes forever, but that is just part of living and working in a big society. Most of the neighbors know we run a business from here. We aren't trying to be some massive corporate entity; we are just a small team keeping track of the market. Lunch is usually something ordered from the local canteen or brought from home. We keep it simple and focus on getting the orders sorted and the data entered correctly into our systems every day.
