Trade Wings International

Our office is on the first floor of Rajiv Mansion, which sits right on Kazi Sayeed Street. If you have ever walked down this street, you know it is packed almost every single day. There are trucks, people carrying heavy loads, and the smell of the market everywhere. We have been here at 12/14 for a long time now. The building itself is one of those old ones with heavy doors and narrow stairs that make you watch your step. Being on the first floor is nice because we do not have to wait for the old lift, which usually has a mind of its own anyway. Trade Wings International operates out of a couple of rooms here. It is crowded inside with files and samples, but we know where everything is kept. The street noise comes right through the windows, but you get used to the honking after a week or so. It feels like the real heart of the trade area. We do not spend money on fancy signs or shiny lobbies. Most of our day is spent talking to people on the phone or checking manifests. Sometimes the electricity goes for a bit and we just sit there talking until it comes back on. It is a very normal, working-class setup. We are not trying to impress anyone with a corporate look. We just want to get the work done and go home to our families like everyone else.
