If you know Haji Ali then you probably know the Heera Panna Shopping Centre on Bhulabhai Desai Road. We are at Shop Number 10. It’s a small shop but we pack a lot of clothes and fashion items into it. The traffic outside is always heavy and there is a constant sound of horns. Inside it’s a bit calmer but still busy with people browsing the racks. We spend a lot of time folding things back up after customers have looked through them. It’s just the nature of the retail business. We have been here for a good while and have seen the mall change over the years. Some days the shop is packed with people and other days we just sit and wait for the afternoon rush. We don't have a huge staff just a few of us who know where everything is kept. The lighting is bright and we try to keep the mirrors clean. It’s a lot of work keeping track of the inventory and making sure we have the right sizes in stock. We get deliveries every few days which means we have to clear some floor space to unpack the boxes. It’s a tight squeeze sometimes but it’s a good location for a fashion business. People come in after a walk or visiting the nearby sights. We just keep the clothes looking neat and help people find what they need without any fuss. It works for us.
