The Solvent Extractors' Association Of India

Our office is way up on the 14th floor of Jolly Maker Chambers No. 2. We are at 225 Nariman Point in Mumbai. It’s a very busy area. You can see the ocean if you lean out the window a bit. We represent the solvent extractors. It’s mostly an administrative job. We have shelves full of industry reports and government notices. The office is always buzzing with the sound of the printer. We don't have a corporate look. It’s just a place where we get work done. We spend a lot of time on the phone with members from all over the country. Sometimes they drop by and we have to find extra chairs. It gets crowded. We keep track of a lot of data. It’s mostly numbers and dry facts. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. You just walk in and talk to whoever is at the front desk. We’ve been at Nariman Point for ages. The furniture is a bit worn out but it does the job. We organize meetings and send out circulars. It’s a lot of coordination. Sometimes the elevators take forever because the building is so tall. We just wait and talk about the weather. It’s a steady kind of work. We aren't trying to sell anything. We just keep the records straight for everyone in the association. It's just what we do every day.
