Ocean House is where you can find us, sitting at 134/A, Dr. Annie Besant Road in Worli. The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited has been around for quite a long time, and this building is our main base of operations. Worli is a busy part of the city, and being here keeps us in the middle of everything. We deal with ships and the sea, which is a lot of work and involves a lot of moving parts every day. Even though the name sounds big and formal, inside Ocean House, it’s just people sitting at desks, talking on phones, and looking at maps and schedules. We have to keep track of where things are across the water, which can get stressful when the weather is bad out there. It’s not like the movies; there aren't many captains in hats walking around the office, just regular staff in shirts and trousers. The office can get a bit loud when everyone is trying to coordinate things at once. We’ve seen the skyline of Mumbai change a lot from our windows over the years we have been here. We don't spend our time making fancy promises; we just try to make sure the vessels are moving and the cargo is safe. It’s a lot of logistics and paperwork that most people never see. We stay here because it’s a good location for us and our history is here.
