We sit here at G-1 in the Nand Gaudina building, right in the middle of Santacruz East. It’s a busy spot, especially being so close to the Yatri hotel and the Ghantakarn Mahavir Market. The street noise is just a part of the day, with rickshaws honking and people shouting in the market. We’ve been here for a long time, and the shop is filled with all sorts of computer parts and cables. It’s not a very big space, and sometimes it feels a bit cramped when we have a lot of machines to look at. The shelves are packed with old boxes and components we’ve gathered over the years. We start the morning by rolling up the metal shutter and letting some air in, though it’s mostly just the smell of the city. The floor is a bit worn out from people coming in and out. Usually, we are just hunched over a desk with a screwdriver or a keyboard. We don't have any fancy decorations on the walls, just a clock that’s a few minutes fast and some old calendars. When the market gets really crowded, it’s hard to even walk on the pavement outside. We usually get our tea from the small stall near the Yatri hotel entrance. It’s a simple life here, just dealing with whatever tech problems show up. We don't make a big deal of things, we just keep the computers running as best as we can.
