Our unit is tucked away in the Shivshakti Industrial Estate, right across from the Mittal Industrial Estate. If you know A.K. Road in Andheri East, you know how crowded it gets around here during the day. We spend our time surrounded by big rolls of plastic and the constant hum of the machines. It is a bit of a maze inside with all the stock piled up, but we know where everything is kept. The guys on the floor have been doing this for a long time, so they can tell if a machine is acting up just by the sound it makes. We make all sorts of flexible packaging for different businesses. It is mostly about getting the thickness right and making sure the print doesn't smudge. It is not the cleanest job in the world, and you often end up with some ink on your shirt by the end of the shift. We have a small office upstairs where we handle the orders and talk to customers. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, and we just sit around and wait for the generator to kick in. It’s just how things are in an industrial estate like this. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. People find us through word of mouth or because they’ve seen our trucks driving around. We keep things simple here. We show up, run the machines, pack the orders, and send them out. It’s busy and sometimes a bit chaotic, but we get the work done.
