Svg Fashions Limited (Knitting Division)

We have been set up at the Veera Desai Industrial Estate for quite a long time now. It is located just off Fun Republic road in Mumbai, which means the area is always packed with cars and people moving around. As the knitting division of Svg Fashions Limited, our day-to-day life is basically defined by the constant humming and clicking of the machines. It is quite loud inside the unit, but after working here for a week, you stop noticing the noise. We handle the heavy lifting when it comes to the fabric. The weather in Mumbai can be really tough when you are working around big machinery and all that yarn, but we just get on with it. Most of the people working here have stayed with us for years. We usually start our shift early in the morning to get some work done before the heat really sets in. Sometimes a machine breaks down or the power goes out, and everything stops for a bit while we fix it, but that is just how things go. Our place at 2 / 3 A/13 is not a fancy office with nice furniture. It is a real workspace where things are actually made. We do not spend much time on computers or writing long emails because there is always something that needs to be done on the floor. It is mostly manual work and keeping a close eye on the needles to make sure nothing snags. We just keep our heads down.
