Surya Auto Deal

You can find us over on Dhobi Street, right behind the back gate of Urvasi Theatre. We've been at number 24 for a good while now. Surya Auto Deal is basically where we buy and sell used vehicles. It’s not a big showroom with glass walls and bright lights. Most of the cars or bikes are just parked along the street or in the small lot we have. It gets pretty busy around here, especially when there’s a movie letting out at the theatre. We spend a lot of time cleaning the dust off the hoods and checking the engines. Dealing with used cars means a lot of paperwork and talking to people about prices. It’s not always easy. Some days we don't sell anything and just sit around chatting with the other shop owners on the street. Other days, it’s a mad rush of people looking for a cheap way to get to work. We try to be honest about the condition of what we’re selling. If a bike has a noisy gear, we’ll tell you. There’s no point in hiding it because the neighborhood is small and news travels fast. We don't have a website or anything. Most people just see the signs when they’re walking past or coming from the theatre. It’s a practical business. We like cars, we like talking to people, and Dhobi Street is a decent place to be if you don't mind the noise and the crowd.
