Balaji Automobiles

Balaji Automobiles has been a part of Mulund West for quite some time. You can find us over on Mangaldas Road at number 9. It’s a busy street and there is usually a car or two parked out front waiting for something. Inside the shop, it smells like oil and metal, which I guess is what you expect from an auto place. We have shelves stacked high with parts for all kinds of vehicles. Half the time we are looking for a specific bolt or a gasket that someone needs right away. My hands are usually a bit dirty from checking engines or moving heavy boxes around. The counter is a bit scratched up from years of people leaning on it while they talk to us. We don't do much fancy advertising, mostly people just know we are here on Mangaldas Road. Sometimes the rain comes down hard and we have to move everything back from the doorway so it stays dry. We drink a lot of tea while we work because the days can get long. It’s a simple setup we have here. We deal with regular folks from around the area who just want their cars to keep running without any trouble. There isn’t a lot of extra space but we make it work. Most of our regulars have been coming here for years and they know exactly where we keep the spare keys and the grease. It’s a noisy neighborhood but it feels like home now.
