Azad Automobiles

Azad Automobiles is over in Kurla West, specifically at Shop No E 57 in the Haroon Compound area near the K sector. It’s a busy spot and we are usually covered in grease and oil by noon every day. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, just a lot of shelves filled with parts and tools scattered across the work benches. We spend most of our time under the hoods of cars or lying on the floor looking at engines and gearboxes. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months, but we just keep the ceiling fans going and get on with the repairs. Haroon Compound is always noisy with other small shops doing their own thing, so you hear a lot of hammering and engines revving all day long. We have been here for a good while now and the walls are stained with oil, which is just how a real mechanic's garage should look. We don't have a fancy waiting room with air conditioning or a television or anything like that. Most people just stand around and chat with us while we work on their vehicles or come back later in the evening when the job is done. It’s a practical place for people who need their vehicles fixed without any of the extra nonsense you find at the big dealerships in the city. We keep our own hours mostly, staying until the last car is ready to go out. It’s just us doing what we know how to do.
