Suresh Provison Stores

Suresh started this store in the Ramji Umarshi Building a long time ago. We are right on the Govandi 1st Main Road, near Nandidurga Road. If you are looking for us, we are quite close to the Dainik Chemist. The shop is filled with all the daily things people need, like rice, dal, soap, and snacks. It’s a bit cramped inside because we try to stock as much as possible so people don't have to go far to buy their groceries. We know most of the families who live on this street. We see the kids growing up and coming in to buy sweets after school. It is a simple life, opening the shutters early and closing them late at night. Sometimes the delivery trucks come late and we have to stay even longer to unload the sacks. We don't have a computerized system or anything, just a notebook where we write things down. The neighborhood in Govandi is always moving, people going to work and coming back. We hear all the local news from our customers while we weigh out their sugar or pack their tea in bags. It’s not a supermarket, just a local provision store where you can get what you need and have a quick chat. We try to keep everything on the shelves full. It is hard work being on your feet all day, but it’s good to be here.
