Navkar Stores

Gandhi Bazaar Main Road is always full of life, and Navkar Stores has been a part of that for a long time. We are located at number 8 in Borivali West. Our days start very early, usually when the milk trucks are making their rounds. We sell all the basic stuff people need for their kitchens, like pulses, rice, and spices. It is a bit of a squeeze in the aisles because we try to stock as much as possible. Sometimes a bag of flour might leak a little, so there is usually a bit of white dust on the floor. We don't have any fancy uniforms or a corporate manual. We just know where the turmeric is kept and how much the sugar costs today. Most of the people who come in are neighbors we have known for years. We talk about the weather or the price of onions while we weigh out the items. The wooden counter is a bit worn out from all the years of use. We don't really do any advertising. People just know we are here on Gandhi Bazaar Main Road. It’s a lot of lifting heavy sacks and standing on our feet, but that is the business. We just keep the doors open and the containers full. It is hard work, but we are used to the routine by now.
