If you walk toward Kurla Station, you’ll find Patel Mansion. We are in units 15 and 16. It’s a very old building, and you can see the history in the staircases and the way the floors are worn down from years of walking. Being so close to the station means there is never a quiet moment. People are always rushing, yelling, or dragging luggage past the building. We’ve been here at M R Pakitwala for a long time. The space is mostly filled with our stock, which leaves just enough room for us to move around comfortably. It’s a bit of a maze inside. We know where all the wallets and packets are kept, but a stranger would probably get lost in the stacks. The lighting isn't the best, but we have some desk lamps that do the trick for the paperwork. We usually have the radio playing low in the background to drown out some of the traffic noise. The neighbors in the building are mostly other small businesses, so we all know each other well. We share tea and complain about the heat when the summer really hits hard. It isn’t a glamorous job, just honest work in a busy part of Kurla West. We don't spend much on decor because we’d rather have more room for the goods. It’s just a practical place for practical people.
