Nariman Point is always buzzing, and being in Mittal Court puts us right in the middle of it. Sudima Impex (India) Pvt. Ltd. is on the 61st unit of the C-Wing. It’s a classic office building. You can feel the energy of the city when you walk through the lobby. Our space is functional. We’ve got our computers, some filing cabinets, and not much else in terms of decor. Most of our work is dealing with the nitty-gritty of Indian trade. There is a lot of checking and re-checking of numbers. We aren't a big corporation with hundreds of employees; we are a smaller group just trying to do our jobs well. The elevators in Mittal Court can be slow, which gives us a chance to chat with the neighbors from other offices. Our day is usually filled with coordinating between different departments and making sure our export documents are in order. It’s a lot of manual entry and keeping track of various shipping lines. Sometimes the rain in Mumbai makes everything a bit chaotic, but we show up and get the work done regardless. We don’t have fancy brochures. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been at 224 Nariman Point for long enough to know how things work around here. It’s a steady pace, and we like it that way. Most days we are just happy to get the shipments out and the paperwork filed before the sun goes down over the water.
