S.R. Organic

You can find S.R. Organic right across from the SBI near Sankalp Hotel in Mahavir Nagar. It’s a nice spot in Kandiwali West, though the traffic on the main road can be a bit much in the evenings. We started this shop because we wanted to have better food options for our own families. We carry grains, pulses, and some oils that are grown without all the heavy chemicals. The shop is small, so we have to stack the bags quite high to fit everything. It smells like earth and spices inside, which I really like. My wife helps me out with the accounts, and we have one young lad who helps carry the heavy sacks for customers. We aren't trying to be a big supermarket. We just want to know the people who buy from us. Some of our regulars have been coming since the day we opened our doors. We talk about the weather or how the quality of the latest batch of rice looks. It’s a slow kind of business. We don't have fancy lights or loud music. Sometimes the delivery truck from the farm gets delayed because of the monsoon rains, and we have to tell people to come back the next day. They usually don't mind. We’re just local people selling things we would eat ourselves. It’s not a complicated setup, and we prefer it that way. We just keep things simple and try to be fair with everyone.
