Spice Islands Aparels Ltd.

Our place is at Unit No. 3043 inside the Bhandup Industrial Estate. Specifically, we are in the Pannalal Compound on L. B. S. Marg in Bhandup West. It’s a big industrial area with lots of different units all doing their own thing. Spice Islands Aparels Ltd. takes up a fair amount of space here. When you walk in, the first thing you hear is the sound of the machines. It’s a constant hum that you eventually stop noticing. We have rows of sewing machines and large cutting tables. The lighting is bright and industrial, designed for work rather than looks. L.B.S. Marg is always jammed with traffic, so getting here in the morning can be a bit of a challenge. Once we are inside the compound, it’s a different world. We have a lot of people working here, most of whom have been with us for years. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Everything is about production and moving the goods out to where they need to go. The walls are a neutral grey, and there are stacks of fabric everywhere you look. We take our breaks in a small corner near the back exit. It’s hard work and the days are long, but we’ve got a good rhythm going in Unit 3043. We don't bother with anything that doesn't help us get the apparel finished and packed. It’s just a busy factory floor doing its job, and we focus on the task at hand.
