Spectscraft

Our place is called Spec House and it sits on Ramchandra Lane Extension in Malad West. It’s quite easy to find if you know the area because we are right across from the C-Queen Hotel and the Paras Industrial Estate. Ganko Industries is also just nearby. At Spectscraft, we spend our time working on eyeglasses and frames. It’s a steady kind of job that requires a lot of looking at small parts. The shop isn't very big, but we have enough room for our equipment and the boxes of frames we keep in the back. Sometimes the lane gets really crowded with trucks and cars, but inside it’s usually a bit more focused. We’ve seen Malad change quite a bit since we started here. More buildings have gone up and the traffic has definitely gotten worse. We don't do much in the way of fancy branding. We just have our name on the front and we do our work. Some days we are swamped with repairs and new orders, and other days it’s a bit quieter and we can organize the shelves. We have a few regular customers who stop by just to say hello or get their glasses adjusted. It’s a local business through and through. We don't have a corporate office or anything like that; we just work from this one spot and try to do a decent job every single day for our neighbors.
