Crazy Collection

Over at B/20 in Andheri West, we have this small place we call Crazy Collection. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we try to fit a lot of different items on the shelves. We mostly sell clothes and little accessories that catch the eye. It’s a busy part of town, so we get all sorts of people walking in, from students to office workers. The name was just something we came up with because we have such a random mix of stuff. It’s not a high-end boutique with bright spotlights. We have some basic tube lights and a mirror that’s slightly loose on the wall. We spend a lot of time rearranging the racks to try and make things fit better. My sister helps me out on the weekends when it gets crowded. Sometimes the door sticks a bit when it's humid, so you have to give it a good shove. We don't have a big mission statement or anything fancy. We just buy things we think people will like and hope they sell. It’s a lot of long hours, especially during festival seasons, but it’s our own business. We like the independence of it. If you’re ever in Andheri West, you might see us sitting on the small steps out front when things are quiet. We’ve managed to keep the shop going for several years now, just by taking it one day at a time and dealing with whatever comes.
