Afreen Bags

Afreen Bags is located right in the middle of Dharavi. If you find your way to Road No 1, we are in Chawl No 5, specifically R No 4. It is a busy spot and there is always something going on right outside the door. Inside the shop, it is mostly just us working with different fabrics and zippers all day long. The space is pretty tight because we have so many materials stacked up, but we have figured out how to make it work over the years. There is no big showroom or anything polished here. It is just a place where work gets done. You can usually hear the sound of the machines running from the street. It gets quite hot in the middle of the day, so we keep the fans going as much as we can. People are constantly walking by because the lanes are narrow and full of life. We spend most of our time checking the seams and making sure the bags are sturdy enough. It is not a huge factory or a corporate office, just a small local operation. Sometimes the floor gets covered in scrap fabric, but we try to tidy up before heading home. We do not have a marketing team or anything. Most people just find us by walking through the chawl. It is just basic work, day in and day out, making sure things are ready.
