Sonali Garments

Sonali Garments operates out of Unit Number 4 in the Ashish Industrial Estate. We are on Gokhale Road South, right in Dadar West. Being so close to the Parel S.T. Depot means there’s never a quiet moment. You can hear the buses pulling in and out all day long, and the smell of exhaust is just part of the air here. Our unit is basically a large room filled with everything we need to produce our garments. It’s an industrial space, so the floors are concrete and the walls are just plain. We don't spend money on decorating because we’d rather spend it on better needles or fabric. Dadar is a tough place to work sometimes because of the crowds, but it also means everything we need is right around the corner. If a machine breaks down, there’s usually a repairman nearby who can fix it. We have a small crew and most of us have been working together for years. We know each other's families and what everyone likes to eat for lunch. We aren't a corporate giant; we are just a local business trying to keep up with our orders. The space gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of work, and we have to shuffle boxes around to find a place to sit. It’s just the reality of running a garment business in a city like this. We show up, we do the work, and we go home.
