Soma'S Shop

Amarchand Mansion is one of those old buildings on Madam Cama Road in Colaba. We are at A-2. It’s a solid place with high ceilings. Being near the Golden Gate and the sea means there is often a bit of salt in the air. The shop isn't like the new ones in the malls. It has its own character, with some creaky floorboards and old wooden shelves. We have things spread out so people can look at them. It’s not just about selling; it’s about having the items there. We spend the morning sweeping the front and making sure everything looks right. Colaba is always full of people walking around, and we get some of that energy inside. We have a few fans spinning overhead to keep the air moving. It’s a nice place to spend the day. We don't use a lot of loud music or bright signs. It’s more relaxed than that. We know the people who work in the offices nearby. They sometimes stop in just to say hello. The light comes in through the big windows in the morning. We just keep things running as they always have. It’s a comfortable spot in a very busy part of Mumbai. We take things one day at a time. The shop has been here through many seasons, and we just keep the door open for whoever stops by.
