I work out of the Payal Building in Chembur, over at Swastik Park. It’s a nice enough area, though the parking can be a real headache sometimes if you arrive after ten. My space is in unit number 4. It’s not a big corporate office, just a practical room where I handle my daily tasks and meetings. Most of my day is spent on the computer or on the phone, dealing with various clients and paperwork. I’ve been in Chembur for quite a while now and I like the pace of things here. It’s busy but not as crazy as the city center. The building itself is a bit older, so you have to know which way the lift door swings, or sometimes you just take the stairs if you're in a hurry. I don't have a big staff or a fancy mission statement to show off. It’s just me doing the work that needs to be done. I usually make my own tea in the morning and start going through the emails. Sometimes neighbors from the other units pop in to say hello or ask for a favor. It feels more like a community than just a place of business. I try to keep things organized, but there is always a stack of papers somewhere that needs sorting. It’s a normal, everyday sort of professional life without any of the extra polish you see in big companies. I think people like that I’m just a regular person they can talk to without any fuss.
