Shruti Creation

Shruti Creation is over in Dhobitalao. We have a few rooms on the first floor of building 46/48 on 3rd Marine Street. It's a bit of a maze in this part of town, but we’ve been here a while. We occupy offices 2, 3, and 4. Most of the time, we are busy with sewing or cutting. The street outside is always crowded with people going to the market or the station. It gets noisy. We have people coming in and out all day. Some are bringing materials, others are checking on their orders. We don't have a big sign outside. You just have to know which stairs to take. It’s a practical space. We have tables for cutting and machines lined up. Sometimes we run out of space when a big shipment comes in. Dhobitalao has a specific feel to it, very old Mumbai. We like being part of the local mess. Our work is mostly about making things look right. We don't talk much during the day because the machines are loud. We take a lunch break together usually. Sometimes we get tea from the stall downstairs. It’s just a normal day-to-day operation. We aren't trying to be anything big. We just want to finish the work on time and keep the quality decent enough. If you’re around Marine Street, you’ll see the building easily. Just walk up to the first floor and look for us.
