Our store, Shri Mahalaxmi Dryfruits General Stores, is located in Ghatkopar West, specifically at Shivam Apartment on Jivdaya Lane. It's a bit of a mouthful of an address, but we’re easy to find once you’re on the lane. We specialize in dry fruits like almonds, cashews, and raisins. We also keep regular grocery items because that’s what people around here need for their daily cooking. The shop is usually full of the smell of spices and roasted nuts. We get our stock from different places, including some items from the Kalol and Gandhinagar areas when we can find the right stuff. We've been here for quite some time now. The bins are always full, and we try to keep everything fresh for the customers. It’s a family-run thing with a few of us helping out. We don't have a big marketing budget or fancy plastic packaging. We just scoop the nuts into bags and weigh them on the old scale. Some days are very busy, especially during the festive season when everyone wants those nice gift boxes for their relatives. The rest of the time, it’s just the local neighbors buying their weekly supplies of grains or oil. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming to us since they were little kids. It’s a bit cramped inside with all the bags of grains and boxes of dried fruit everywhere, but it works for us. We just focus on keeping the stock steady and the prices where they should be for our neighbors.
