Modern Dry Fruits

We are tucked away in the Champaklal Industrial Estate, specifically at unit 24. Sion East is a crowded area, and being near the MTNL office helps people find us, otherwise, you might get lost in all these industrial blocks. At Modern Dry Fruits, the air usually smells like almonds or raisins depending on what we are sorting that day. It is not a quiet place. There is always the sound of bags being moved or the tape dispenser sealing up boxes for delivery. We have got a lot of shelves and they are usually packed pretty high. The office part is just a small corner with a couple of old desks and a computer that has seen better days. We do not have a big storefront with lights. It is an industrial estate, so it is all about utility here. Most of our day is spent checking the batches and making sure the weights are right. It is a bit of a maze getting to unit 105, but we have been here long enough that the neighbors all know us. The tea guy comes around twice a day and that is when everyone takes a five-minute break. It is just a regular bunch of folks working in a busy part of Mumbai. We do not try to be something we are not. We just handle the dry fruits and try to keep things organized in a space that is always a little bit too small for everything.
