Shree Charbhuja Stores

Shree Charbhuja Stores is right in the middle of everything on Hill Road. We are in the Nagree Building, number 40, which sits right opposite the shopping centre. If you know the Bombay Conon Mill Estate area, then you know how packed it gets on the weekends. It’s a lot of noise and people moving fast. Our shop is just one of many in this building, but we’ve been here long enough that we feel like part of the bricks. We sell all sorts of things, the kind of bits and pieces you need for the house. It’s a bit of a squeeze inside with the boxes stacked up, but we know where everything is. Hill Road is always changing, new shops opening and others closing, but we just keep doing what we’ve always done. We aren’t trying to be the biggest or the brightest store on the block. We just open up in the morning and stay until the evening rush starts to die down. The Nagree building is an older place, and it has its quirks, like the way the light hits the front window in the late afternoon. We talk to the other shopkeepers and watch the traffic go by. It’s just a normal way to earn a living in this part of Bombay. Nothing fancy, just us at the store making sure everything is ready for the customers who walk in. We like the bustle of Hill Road well enough.
