Mehreen Creation

Our place is Plot No. 21 on Line C, Room No. 2. We are located in Shivaji Nagar, right near Hari Masjid Road 3 in Govandi. It’s a very busy neighborhood to work in. If you come looking for Mehreen Creation, you’ll probably hear the sound of the sewing machines before you actually see our sign. It’s a small space, and we have rolls of fabric stacked up in almost every corner of the room. We mostly do tailoring and stitching for the people around here. There are usually three or four of us working at any given time. It gets pretty warm in the room, especially in the middle of the day when the sun is out, so we keep the fans going at full speed. Being near the masjid means we hear the calls to prayer throughout the day, which helps us keep track of time without needing to look at a clock. The lane outside is quite narrow, so there’s always people walking by and kids playing near the door. We spend our time measuring, cutting, and sewing. Sometimes the thread tangles or a machine breaks down, and we have to spend an hour fixing it ourselves. We don't have a website or any fancy advertisements. Most people find us because they live nearby or their friends told them about us. It’s honest work and it keeps our hands busy all day long. We just try our best.
