Sheldon International

We are tucked behind the Bank of India on Police Court Lane. Sheldon International has its office here at No. 22. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road, but it’s quieter back here. The building is one of those old ones in the Fort area with the heavy doors and narrow stairs. We’ve got a couple of desks and a lot of filing cabinets. Most of our day is spent on the phone or filling out paperwork. It’s not the most exciting work, but it keeps us busy. We usually have the radio playing in the background to break the silence. Sometimes the courier guys get lost trying to find us since the lane is so small. We have to go out and wave them down so they see us. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who have worked together for a long time. We eat our lunch at our desks most days. The windows don’t open very far, so it can get a bit stuffy in the afternoon heat. We’ve thought about moving to a newer building, but we’re used to this spot now. It has a certain feel to it that we like. We just handle our business and try to get home before the train rush starts. It’s a decent place to work. We don't have fancy office furniture or a lobby. Just us doing our thing in a corner of the city where things are a bit more peaceful.
