Alnoor Textiles & Perfumes

You can find us at Shop No 3 in the Shami Mansion. The address is 51/59 Tantanpura Street, right across from the Faizan-e-madina Masjid. It’s a very recognizable spot because of the mosque. Alnoor Textiles & Perfumes is a bit of a mix. We have the fabrics on one side and the scents on the other. The smell in the shop is actually quite nice because of all the perfumes. It’s a small shop, so we have to be careful about how we stack the textile rolls. If you aren't careful, you might trip over something. We spend a lot of time talking to people who walk in off Tantanpura Street. Some are looking for specific cloth and others just want to see what new scents we have. It’s a lively area, especially around prayer times when there are lots of people near the masjid. We’ve been in Shami Mansion for a good while. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't gotten around to it yet. We are usually too busy measuring out fabric or filling small bottles. It’s just a family-run kind of vibe here. We don't use any big fancy words to describe what we do. We just sell textiles and perfumes to whoever needs them. It’s a simple trade and it keeps us busy from morning until night. Sometimes we close up a bit early if the street is quiet, but usually, we are here until the sun goes down. The wooden counter we use is quite old and worn from years of work.
