Shalimar Earth Movers

Shalimar Earth Movers is tucked away inside the Agnes D'Souza Compound. If you know Chandivali, you know how crowded and busy the roads can get. We are located right opposite Oberoi Garden, which is a big landmark for people trying to find our gate. We keep our machines parked in the compound when they are not out on a job. It is mostly excavators and some smaller earthmoving gear because the lanes around here can be very narrow for the big trucks. I started this business because I saw how much building was happening in this part of town and knew people needed help moving dirt. We don't do much advertising at all. Most of our work comes from contractors we have worked with for years. The equipment gets beat up because the ground around Chandivali is quite rocky. We spend a lot of time on maintenance and repairs. My head mechanic is always covered in grease, but he knows those engines better than anyone else. We don't have a fancy lobby or a secretary. It is just an office with a desk and some old chairs where we drink coffee. We handle mostly local clearing jobs and some basement digging for the new buildings going up. It is noisy and dusty work, but someone has to do it. The area has changed a lot since we moved into Plot 3C, but we are still here doing the same work every day.
