If you find yourself on Nehru Road in Santacruz East, you might see us at Kheru Nisha Manzil. We’re Shakti Dru Fruits. We deal with all kinds of nuts and dried things. It’s a small place, packed with bags of almonds, cashews, and raisins. The smell inside is always quite nice because of all the produce. It gets really busy during the festival seasons when everyone wants to buy gifts for their relatives. My brother and I run the place mostly. We spend a lot of time weighing things out on the scales and packing them into smaller bags. Sometimes the delivery guys are late because Santacruz traffic is a nightmare, but we manage. We aren't doing anything fancy here. We just sell what we have in stock. The shelves are usually full, and sometimes it's hard to move around in the back room. We've known the people on this street for years. We buy our tea from the guy next door. We don't have a website or a social media page. If people want something, they just walk in and ask what’s fresh today. We keep it simple. It's a lot of manual work, lifting heavy sacks and making sure everything stays dry and clean. That's just how a small shop on Nehru Road works. We’re here most days from morning until late evening, just keeping the shop going and chatting with the regulars.
