Shaheena Store

Shaheena Store is tucked away in Munshi Market, specifically at C/48/4/9. This is in the Munshi Khancha area near Laheripura in Dharavi. If you know Dharavi, you know the streets are narrow and always full of life. Our shop is just one of many in this crowded market. We keep a variety of items that people in the neighborhood need. It is a small space, but we pack it full of goods. The shelves go all the way to the top. Every morning starts with moving some of the stock out to the front so people can see what we have. It is noisy because of the workshops and other stores nearby. There is always the sound of metal or people talking loudly. We have been in Munshi Market for years. The air is often thick with the smells of the city and the local industry. It is a hard-working area. We spend most of our time chatting with customers or rearranging the items to make more room. The shop doesn't have much light, so we rely on the bulbs we have inside. It gets very hot during the summer months, but the breeze from the doorway helps a little. It is just a regular local store where people come for their daily bits and pieces. We know most of the people who live in the surrounding lanes. We are here every day.
