Our office, Servotech Engg. Ind. Ltd., is up on the second floor at 203, Chartered House. We’re right near the Marine Lines Church, which is a landmark most people in Mumbai know. It’s an old building, the kind with thick walls and a bit of character. We’ve been working out of this space for quite some time now. Being in the Marine Lines area means it’s always busy outside with people heading to the station or the church. Inside, we focus on engineering work, which means lots of drawings, technical specs, and long meetings. It’s not a fancy, modern office with bean bags or glass partitions. It’s more traditional, with heavy desks and rows of filing cabinets. We deal with industrial stuff, so things can get a bit technical and dry. We don't have a big PR team to write nice things about us. We’re just a group of engineers and office staff trying to get the projects finished on time. The lift in Chartered House can be a bit temperamental, so we often end up taking the stairs. It’s just part of the daily routine here. We like the location because it’s central and everyone knows the neighborhood. We don't make big promises; we just look at the plans and do the engineering work that’s required. It’s been our home for years, and we’re quite settled into the rhythm of the place. We just keep moving.
