Our place, Semana Appliances Pvt. Ltd., is at C-2/7 Maruti Nagar, right on Hindustan Naka in Kandivali West. We are directly opposite Ajanta Pharma, which is a big landmark that helps people find us. We make home appliances, so there is always the sound of tools and assembly happening in the back. It is not a quiet office. The front area has a few of our models on display, but it is not a fancy showroom. There is usually some dust on the floor from the workshop. We have been in Kandivali for a while and we know most of the people in the neighboring units. The traffic at Hindustan Naka can be a nightmare during rush hour, so we usually try to get our shipping done early in the morning. Our staff is a mix of people who have been here forever and a few newer faces. We don't have a big HR department or anything like that. If there is a problem, we just talk about it and fix it. The building is a bit old and the paint is peeling in a few spots, but it serves our purpose. We just focus on putting the appliances together and getting them shipped out to the retailers who sell them. It is a noisy, busy place but we enjoy the work we do. Most of us take our lunch breaks together in the small area out back when the weather is not too bad.
