Scrap Yard

We run the Scrap Yard over on 90 Feet Road in Sakinaka, Andheri East. If you know the area, you know it is always busy and there is always a lot of noise from the traffic. Our yard is right in the middle of all that action. It is a dusty place, and things are piled up here and there, but we know exactly where everything is located. We spend most of our day moving stuff around and talking to people who come by to drop things off. It is not the cleanest job, but it is what we do and we have been doing it for years now. Andheri East is a tough place to work sometimes because of the heat and the crowds, but we have grown used to it. We do not have a fancy office, just a small shed where we keep the scales and a ledger to track what comes in and out. People from all over the neighborhood stop by with different bits and pieces. We do not use any high-tech systems, just our eyes and a lot of manual labor. It is a simple business, really. We take in what people do not want anymore and figure out what to do with it. Some days are slow and we just sit around the entrance, and other days we do not even have time to eat lunch because there is so much to sort through. It is hard work, but it keeps us going.
