We are set up in Flat 601 of the Chandrasagar CHS, which is Plot 223 in Gokuldham, Goregaon East. It’s a residential-commercial area of Mumbai that stays busy pretty much all the time. Being Fl Smidth Minerals India Pvt. Ltd., we use this space as our main point of contact for our operations in the city. It’s a typical Mumbai apartment-style office, which means it’s a bit tight but we make it work. We have desks squeezed in and plenty of files stacked up on the shelves. Working in Goregaon means we are right in the thick of things, with the station not too far away and plenty of traffic nearby. Our daily routine involves a lot of phone calls and emails to various sites. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist in a suit. Usually, you’ll just find a few of us hunched over computers or discussing some technical details over a cup of tea. It’s a practical way to run things without spending too much on overhead. The building is older but it’s sturdy and serves its purpose. We know the neighbors and the local shops well. It’s an honest place where we just focus on the minerals business and try to keep everything moving. It’s often a bit noisy with the city sounds, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We just try to stay organized and handle the work as it comes in, day after day.
