Eckhardt Steel & Alloys

Our shop, Eckhardt Steel & Alloys, is located at number 12 Pathe Bapurao Marg. If you have ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how packed and noisy the streets are. We deal with steel and different types of alloys, mostly spending our days surrounded by metal and heavy crates. It is a crowded area where every inch of space counts, so our place is packed with inventory from floor to ceiling. There isn't much room for a fancy office, so we just have a small desk tucked away where we handle the billing and the phone calls. The sound of trucks and people shouting outside is just part of the background noise we live with every day. Working with steel is heavy, dirty work, and we don't try to dress it up. We get the metal in, we move it around, and we get it out to whoever needs it for their project. It’s a lot of lifting and checking sizes to make sure everything matches the order. Sometimes the traffic on Pathe Bapurao Marg makes it nearly impossible to load a truck, but we manage to find a way. We have been doing this for a long time and know the metal market in the city fairly well. We don't bother with expensive ads; the people who need steel usually know where to find us in the market. It’s a busy, cramped, and honest way to spend the day in Mumbai.
