Our shop is Sci-Tech Books & Periodicals, located at 4/4 in the Janki Centre on Veera Desai Road. If you’ve ever been to Andheri West, you know how hectic it can get around here. Inside our place, it’s a bit different. It’s just rows and rows of books and journals stacked up. We specialize in science and technical stuff, so it’s not the kind of place people come for light reading. It smells like old paper and printer ink. We spend a lot of our time looking through catalogs or trying to find a specific journal for a student or a researcher. It’s quiet work, mostly. We aren't a big flashy bookstore with a coffee shop inside. It’s just us and the books. Sometimes the stacks get so high you can’t see the person on the other side. We’ve been in the Janki Centre for quite some time now. People know they can come to us when they need something specific for their studies or work. We do our best to keep track of everything, but with so many titles, it's a constant battle with the shelves. We don't do much in the way of fancy displays. We just put the books where they fit. It’s a practical way to run things. We’re usually here from morning till late, surrounded by information and dust, helping people find what they actually need for their research.
