National Medical Book House

National Medical Book House is right on the ground floor of the Princess Building at number 8, E R Road. We are pretty easy to find if you know where the J J Hospital signal is. Being in Masjid Bunder means the streets are always crowded and there is a lot of noise from the traffic outside, but inside we just focus on the books. We’ve got stacks of medical texts all over the place. Since we are so close to the hospital, we see a lot of students and doctors coming through the doors. It’s not a large or flashy space, just a practical one where people can find what they need for their medical studies. The shelves are packed tight, and sometimes you have to move a stool just to get to the back row. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. It’s a lot of work keeping track of all the different editions and new releases that come out every year. We usually spend the mornings unpacking boxes that come in from the publishers. The air is always a bit dusty from the paper, but we’re used to it by now. We just stay open and keep the stock ready for whoever needs it. It’s been our routine for years at this spot near the signal. We don't do anything fancy, just sell books and talk to the people who walk in to browse our collection.
