Being so close to the local government office means there is always people moving around nearby. Our focus is on water, which is something everyone needs every single day. The work isn't very complicated, but it is constant. We have to keep the purification systems running and make sure the bottles or containers are filled and ready to go. The area here in Mangaon is quite nice, though it can get very quiet at night. During the day, it is a different story with the sound of the pumps and the delivery vehicles. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It is just a group of us making sure the water is clean and getting it to where it needs to be in the local area. Sometimes the pipes need fixing or we have to wait on a spare part, but we usually figure it out pretty quick. We spend a lot of time outdoors or in the loading area, so we are used to the weather. It is the kind of job where you can see what you have accomplished at the end of the shift when you see the stacks of water ready for delivery. We just try to keep things running without any big drama. It is a vital service for our neighbors and we take it seriously.
