Sanjay General Store

Sanjay General Store is located at Shop No. 2 on the ground floor in Gtb Nagar. We are part of the Punjabi Colony in the Koliwada area of Sion East. This neighborhood has a lot of history and the people here have lived in these buildings for many years. Our store is just a regular local shop where we sell everyday things that people in the colony need. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for the older folks to stop by without having to climb any stairs. We spend our days restocking the shelves and talking to the neighbors about what is happening in the area. Punjabi Colony is usually quite busy, especially in the evenings when everyone is out for a walk or doing their shopping. We keep everything from soap to snacks and try to make sure we don't run out of the basics. Sion East is a crowded part of Mumbai, so the shop is quite small and we have to use every bit of space we have. It is a lot of work to keep things organized, but we have a system that works for us. We start early in the morning when the milk and bread deliveries come in. Most of the people who come here are more like friends than customers because we have seen them every day for so long. It is just a simple way to earn a living in Koliwada. We stay open until the street lights are on and everyone has finally gone home.
