Sangotra Fashions Private Limited is based over in Bhandup West at the Kanjur Industrial Estate on Quarry Road. This part of Mumbai is a real working-class neighborhood. Our workspace at Unit G is where we handle all the daily operations. It is a very basic setup without any frills. We have long rows of tables for cutting and sewing, and while the light is not always perfect, we make it work for us. The industrial estate itself is always a bit of a mess with trucks trying to get through the narrow lanes and workers moving crates. We have been at this location for a while and the routine stays pretty much the same. We show up, see what orders need to be finished, and get right to the tasks. It gets a bit dusty in here, especially when we have the big industrial fans blowing to keep the air moving. We do not have anyone to write fancy descriptions of what we do or a big marketing team. It is just us, the rolls of fabric, and our sewing machines. Sometimes the heavy rain makes the commute to Bhandup a total nightmare, but the work has to continue regardless. We mostly keep to ourselves and focus on getting the finished garments out the door on time. It involves a lot of repetitive work, checking seams, and packing up boxes for transport. There is no corporate ladder here, just people who know their jobs.
