Saikirti General Stores

We’ve been running the store on Tembi Pada Road for quite a while now. It’s over in Bhandup West, specifically on the road that leads to Arya Vidya Mandir. Having the school nearby means our mornings and afternoons are usually timed by the sound of the school bell. We see a lot of the same faces every day, mostly parents and students stopping by. The shop is a general store, so we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves, from snacks and drinks to basic household stuff. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because the shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. We have to use a small stool to reach the items at the top. The floor is just simple tile, and it gets a lot of dust from the road outside. Tembi Pada Road is usually busy with traffic, so there’s a constant hum of engines in the background. We stay behind the counter and chat with the neighbors who come in for their daily supplies. It isn't a fancy supermarket with bright lights, just a regular shop where we know which biscuits people like. Sometimes the delivery trucks block the entrance for a bit, but everyone is patient. We just keep the inventory stocked and wait for the next customer. It’s a steady way to spend the day in Bhandup.
