Our setup is inside the Krishnavihar CHS Limited building on Dr. S. S. Rao Road in Lalbaug. It’s a lively part of the city, and being here means there’s always something happening outside. We aren’t a big factory or anything like that. Instead, we operate out of this space in a more personal way. Most of the people who work here live nearby, so it feels very much like a local neighborhood business. We handle apparel, so the room is usually full of clothes, threads, and the hum of a few machines. It’s not a silent office by any means. We’ve been in Lalbaug for quite a few years now and have seen the streets change as new buildings go up. Still, our little corner in Krishnavihar stays pretty much the same. We don’t have a fancy reception area or a lot of corporate rules. We just come in, do the sewing or the packing, and go home. Sometimes we have tea together in the afternoon and talk about things other than work. It’s a practical environment. We don’t try to sound like we are bigger than we are. We are just a small team making clothes and trying to stay on top of our orders. The traffic on Dr. S. S. Rao Road can be a nightmare during the festivals, but we’ve learned to work around it. It’s just part of being in this part of town and we enjoy the energy of the area every single day.
