Sagar Stores

Sagar Stores is right there at 22 Jolly Square, directly opposite the Bank of India near Ram Chowke in Chembur West. It’s a pretty busy intersection, so there is always something going on outside our window. We’ve been here for years, watching the neighborhood grow and change around us. The store itself is packed with items from floor to ceiling. Sometimes it’s a bit of a squeeze when we have more than three people inside at once. We don’t have any fancy displays or expensive lighting. We just use what we have. Most of our time is spent helping people find what they need and chatting with the locals. Chembur has a nice feel to it, and being near the bank means we get a lot of foot traffic. The old wooden counter has a lot of scratches on it, but it’s sturdy and has served us well. We don't really do much in the way of promotion. People just know us as the place across from the bank. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the shop, so we usually keep the door halfway shut to stay cool. We aren't a big chain or anything, just a local store run by people who live in the area. It’s a simple life, and we’re happy to keep things going one day at a time without any big corporate plans. We usually close up around eight and head home.
