S Kumars & Co.

We are located at No. 99 Niranjan on the ground floor right by Marine Drive. Being near the water is nice, though the salt air isn't always the best for the building's paint. S Kumars & Co. has been in this spot for a long time. It’s a classic building, and being on the ground floor means we get a lot of breeze when the front door is open. The shop itself is quite traditional. We have heavy wooden counters and shelves that have seen a lot of use over the years. We don't go in for modern decorations or anything like that. It’s a place where we do our business face-to-face. We spend our time going through ledgers and talking to customers who have been coming to us for decades. Sometimes the sidewalk outside is crowded with tourists, but inside it stays relatively calm. The lighting is a bit dim, which gives it an old-school feel. We aren't trying to change with every trend that comes along. We just stay here at Niranjan and keep doing what we’ve always done. It’s a bit cramped in the back where we keep the records, but we know where everything is. You won't find anything flashy here, just us and the inventory we’ve kept for years. It's a steady place in a part of town that's always changing, and we like the familiarity of our daily routine by the sea.
